Upon meeting Kristen Jones, an Alexandria resident of over 20 years, you will instantly realize she has an ability to make connections with those who she meets. She is truly genuinely interested in helping and counseling people to reach their goals from start to finish.
Kristen grew up going to her grandparent's hardware store and lumber yard located in a small farm town just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. She still uses the antique roll top desk that was in her grandparent’s store as her home office desk. Coupled with being a daughter of a (Ret.) United States Army Command Sargent Major, she learned at such a young age that with discipline, hard work, dedication, building, and cultivating personal relationships are the nuts and bolts (no pun intended) to being successful and delivering extraordinary service to your clients is paramount; a natural fit for McEnearney and Associates.
She went to college at Gannon University in Erie, PA, graduated with honors with degrees in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. Throwing caution to the wind after graduating, Kristen packed her bags and headed east as she knew there was something bigger in store for her. She landed in Old Town Alexandria and has been there ever since! She went on to do graduate work at The University of Virginia with a focus on Gifted and Talented Education and Middle School Mathematics. She taught in the Advanced Academic Program in the Fairfax County Public School system for over ten years and held many leadership positions at the school and cluster levels. During her tenure as a teacher, she was recognized in The Washington Post, the Mount Vernon Gazette, Burke newspapers. She and her class were invited to The White House for the outstanding achievements and creative projects she led with her advanced academic students.
Kristen has gained considerable experience through the buying and selling of seven homes in just 13 years of marriage. Kristen understands the home buying, selling, and negotiating process at a very personal level. She and her husband have been dubbed the “endless renovators." They have done extensive renovations on their primary residences as well as their homes they have owned on the eastern shore in Maryland and in Rhode Island. Kristen is pleased to extend her experience with contractors and renovations onto her clients as well as her local rolodex.
In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, baking, going to the beach, supporting locally owned boutiques and establishments, spending time with friends, and strolling the streets of Old Town Alexandria. In the fall, you can catch Kristen sporting black and gold, supporting her Pittsburgh Steelers! She resides in Old Town with her husband, Nathan and the two are very active within their community. They are joined by their two very spirited and dynamic boys. Be on the lookout as you may see Daisy, their spunky black Pug sashaying down a cobblestone street in Historic Old Town Alexandria!
